Welcome to Shottstown Miners Bowling web page where you will find useful links to other bowling sites. There is also access to our syllabus an introduction to our committee and other items.
We are a friendly club and would welcome players of any age and abilities, qualified coaches are available to show any novices the ropes.
You will see from our syllabus most weekends have internal Ladies & Gents mixed competitions drawn from the hat, and are normally played in a round robin format, so you are guaranteed more than one game.
We have a Gents team who play in the Midlothian League (three rinks of four) on a Friday night, A Senior rink on Tuesday mornings. Also Ladies & Gents have pairs teams that play on a Monday night in the ‘A’ Group (against other miners clubs in the area). The Ladies also play in the Midlothian League on a Tuesday night and also Seniors on Thursday Mornings.
Apart from the usual Friday night cabaret in the lounge of the social club we frequently have music (not necessarily disco) on Saturdays after the competitions and karaoke (if wanted). As said earlier we are a friendly sociable club so why not come along and give us a try, we are situated on the main bus route (John St) next to Ladbrokes and the Tower chippy . Membership Fees are £20 to join the Main Social Club (Which Includes
a loyalty card to receive a drinks discount) £15 Renewable. Then £50 to Join
the Bowling Section.
